While walking through a park in Copenhagen, I was admiring the beauty and diversity of the nature that surrounded me. Each tree was unique and told a different story. Just like all of us.
Deforestation is a serious problem that has been troubling humanity for centuries. So in order to move to a more sustainable and environmentally-responsible future, this problem must be tackled.
As I thought of the rich variety between the species of trees that embraced my presence, I thought of the story of life each one of them told. Old, young, robust, frail; of different colors, sizes and origins… All different, yet all important for our ecosystem to prosper.
So in order to promote donations for tree planting and initiatives to fight deforestation, I believe organizations behind this cause should tell the tale of tree’s lives. Not through boring facts or pity, but through a story the audience can resonate with.
Alluding to the fact that humans and trees are similar, they could have an old, wise voice (like the one of David Attenborough) narrating the copy of the video. Throughout the video, as species of trees are depicted, the narrator would voice a short personified description of said trees. Following the sequence, the narrator would say: “Each tree has a story to tell, a story full of life… let’s make sure not to cut their story short”.
